CHANGE Change is inevitable, right??? I know one thing that has changed in my life is my definition of success. All my life, for as long as I could remember, I saw success as going to college, playing in the NFL, having a family, making a lot of money and never having to work unless I felt like getting up and doing so... So many people I know, identify success from a monetary perspective- it’s all about which zip code you live in and what type of car you are driving... Well, let me tell you a little secret - it isn't all what it seems to be... Yes, I went to college, and I played eight years in the NFL, I even won a Super Bowl. Yes, I have a beautiful family and I live in a nice house- I wrote a book and I get to travel around the world, motivating people on how to find the champion within...but…… THE TRUTH With all that being said, looking from the outside in, it sounds good, but the truth is 78% of professional athlete's two years after they are done playing, end up in a divorce court, bankrupted, addicted to some kind of narcotic, all while having a mid-life crisis at the age of 30... I have come to realize, how blessed I truly am. MY NEW DEFINITION My new definition of success, is having a strong foundation in place (faith, family, and friends), maintaining a workout regiment, having a proper diet, and making sure that I can be of a service to as many people as possible. God has shown me the purpose of my gifts. He has also shown me that the message is bigger than the individual. The bible says, to whom much is given, much is required. That means the more that you receive, the more you have to give. I believe that God has already equipped us with the necessary tools to be prosperous in this lifetime. The key to success is knowing how and when to use those gifts.
