The Ropes on your Basket At this point in my career I have had some time and reflect on a lot of things, from decisions that I made, people I have met, and lives that have been touched all because God choose to use me the way He did. After my 11th training camp in the National Football League I have had some ups, downs and somewhere in between, but one thing is for certain I could have done nothing or not got through the times that came without those that were “holding my rope”. For no other reason other than they had faith in what God has planned through me. In Acts chapter nine it talks about the convergence of Saul into Paul, who ended up writing the majority of the New Testament as we know it. Every one knows the story of Saul walking on the road to Damascus and the interaction that took place. But what happened after the scales fell off Saul’s eyes and the transformation that changed the history of Christianity was phenomenal. Paul, newly transformed had a lot of crazy times and none would be possible if it weren’t for the men in Acts 9: 23-25, not knowing what implications it was going to have, but through faith were there for any brother. Act 9: 23-25 reads; After many days had gone by, the Jews conspired to kill him, but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the gates in order to kill him. But his followers took him by night and lowered him in the basket through an opening in the wall. My question is two fold, and it is: Have you considered how you got to where you are today in your life, and who has been there holding on till their hands bleed to see you succeed? And have you had a second to be thankful that God has put them in your life? Maybe you are not at this point in your life, but ***uming that you are still on this side of the gr*** then we all have someone, an in my case a lot of people, through the gift of faith have blessed my life by just holding on. Be thankful and be encouraged that God puts people in our lives all the time to build His kingdom through your awesome ability. Dear Lord, today we thank you for blessing us with relationships that we may not even be aware of, but through their faithfulness to You, we have been safe from evil and all those trying to bring us down. Lord I pray a blessing on those who have been diligent in Your work, that you continue to strengthen those that are holding on to our ropes and that we may have the same strength and courage to do the same when we are called upon. We thank you and love you Lord, and let us walk as your warriors today and everyday. Amen!
